the PDP forum of zonal publicity secretaries in his office at the party’s
national secretariat, Abuja, the PDP National Publicity Secretary, Chief Olisa
Metuh stressed that in midst of security challenges, President Goodluck
Jonathan was still performing
and government going on, even as he reiterated
the party’s position on utterances of leaders of opposition party that it has
over heated the polity.

setting, no one is perfect, the PDP is not perfect, yes Nigerians expect us to
be better than we are, but Nigerians truly know that our competition
(opposition) is not an option.”
Metuh who noted that recently, the
opposition was emboldened by the calls of the PDP and have chosen the path of
wisdom to temper their voice, however recalled its stand to the bomb blast that
took place at Nyanya Motor Park where it tasked the opposition on the state of
insecurity in the country, adding, “The fact that some of these insurgents have
been financed by people who were encouraged by the hard stance, utterances,
statements made by these opposition leaders, when people are statesmen, we
don’t expect them to speak in pursuance of their personal interest.
“We are happy today that they have
chosen the path of wisdom to temper their voice, they have heeded our call, I
think our statement was positive in the sense that they have moderate the
views, utterances of the opposition leaders. We are happy we did that, the
party stands by that statement and have had profound effect on the body polity”

Jonathan has been able to keep a level playing field exemplified by the
successful hosting of the World Economic Forum on Africa. “Never in the history
of this country have we had such challenges come at a very critical time of our
development, we are saddened by the abduction of the Girls of Government
Secondary School in Chibok”.
He added that the party will never
play politics with human live, saying the government will work hard to ensure
security of lives and property.

Speaking yesterday when he received the PDP forum of zonal publicity secretaries in his office at the party’s national secretariat, Abuja, the PDP National Publicity Secretary, Chief Olisa Metuh stressed that in midst of security challenges, President Goodluck Jonathan was still performing and government going on, even as he reiterated the party’s position on utterances of leaders of opposition party that it has over heated the polity.
He said, “Like in democratic setting, no one is perfect, the PDP is not perfect, yes Nigerians expect us to be better than we are, but Nigerians truly know that our competition (opposition) is not an option.”
Metuh who noted that recently, the opposition was emboldened by the calls of the PDP and have chosen the path of wisdom to temper their voice, however recalled its stand to the bomb blast that took place at Nyanya Motor Park where it tasked the opposition on the state of insecurity in the country, adding, “The fact that some of these insurgents have been financed by people who were encouraged by the hard stance, utterances, statements made by these opposition leaders, when people are statesmen, we don’t expect them to speak in pursuance of their personal interest.
“We are happy today that they have chosen the path of wisdom to temper their voice, they have heeded our call, I think our statement was positive in the sense that they have moderate the views, utterances of the opposition leaders. We are happy we did that, the party stands by that statement and have had profound effect on the body polity”
The PDP spokesperson who noted that the opposition has resulted to insulting the President of the country, national chairman of the PDP, the party and every other person because of dearth of any opinion and ideology, said, “The statement of the opposition always it is definitely as ugly as their looks and their actions, it is a product of frustration, resentment against their creator, because anybody that is happy with himself, a fulfilled human being will be cautious in his statements and the way he insults others”.
Metuh who explained that the party has provided a level playing field for party members, said that the party believes that power belongs to the people, adding “Our mantra is that power to the people in a democratic setting, it is not one man that chooses his successor, or chose the people that will contest election.”
Insisting that in the mist of security challenges, governance must go on, he stressed that President Goodluck Jonathan has been able to keep a level playing field exemplified by the successful hosting of the World Economic Forum on Africa. “Never in the history of this country have we had such challenges come at a very critical time of our development, we are saddened by the abduction of the Girls of Government Secondary School in Chibok”.
He added that the party will never play politics with human live, saying the government will work hard to ensure security of lives and property.
Earlier chairman of the forum zonal publicity secretaries of PDP and South-South zonal publicity secretary, Ali Odeifa who expressed the loyalty of the forum to President Jonathan, Adamu Mu’azu and the National Working Committee (NWC) of the party, applauded Jonathan’s effort on insecurity and his wisdom in accepting assistance from foreign countries.
The delegation included; Emmanuel Okpokpo (south-South), Al-Amin San (North East)i, Taofeeq Ganiyu (South West) and Suleman Mohammed (North Central).
